Pulser - Biography

Sticking to a tried and tested sound might be good for some but that’s never been an option for Andy Perring aka Pulser either in the studio or the DJ booth.

Cloudwalking, My Religion, Spiritualised (Olmec Heads), Open Our Eyes (Insigma) are all seen as classic trance anthems these days but Pulser has never stood still. His ever-evolving production and DJ style has stayed current yet Pulser has always managed to go his own unique way, challenging the status quo and delivering the alternative sound in Trance. The release of The Space Between The Stars, Pulser’s debut album on Black Hole Recordings showcases the fact in spectacular fashion encompassing everything from progressive, tech-house and synthpop beats through to the most uplifting trance you’ll hear anywhere yet it still retains that inimitable Pulser sound that makes the endorphins go into overdrive. The first single ‘Altitudes’ lead DJ Magazine to call it “One of the most exciting records you’ll hear this summer’!

The 2010 release of 'Broken Universe' on Gareth Emery's Garuda label heralded a big evolution in the Pulser sound. Massive DJ support , many weeks in the Beatport charts followed by Pulser’s return to the UK for a memorable DJ set for Garuda at the worlds best club Sankeys in Manchester, The perfect way to announce the return of a trance tour de force.

He followed that up with his hugely successful ‘naughty remix’ of Sasha & Emerson's - Scorchio which saw plays from DJ's across the board including support from Judge Jules on his BBC Radio 1 show. Moving forward he introduced you to the massive sound of  Sunstorm from new side project Luminal which landed the Pulser name on Ferry Corsten's Flashover imprint for the first time and quickly followed this with a second Garuda single 'In My World'.

2010 also saw Andy add club promoter to the CV after being invited to take over the running of Elements at Latvia’s superclub Essential. Now entering in its second year, Elements is already proving the most successful, monthly Trance event in the Baltics. Years of global touring saw Pulser playing the biggest clubs and festivals but it’s really this residency that has honed his deck skills to the max, proving Pulser is equally at home delivering the deepest, darkest tech-trance warm-ups though to epic, peaktime, roof-raising, 3 hour headline sets. Alongside his Elements guests Jochen Miller, Rank 1, Lange, Ashley Wallbridge, Mike Koglin, The Thrillseekers, M.I.K.E. and a host of up-and-coming local talent. Elements has proven to be a massive success in the Latvian capital Riga, Pulser’s home since 2009.

It's no wonder then that the buzz surrounding Pulser is getting louder and louder! With more bigfloor singles lined up, the release of his long awaited debut album, the launch of his own new label Toneplay, a return to top-flight international DJing, a rapidly expanding and successful club night residency and some very big remixes to come, Pulser’s star is certainly rising again!
